At Chameleon Scrubs, we have made a deliberate decision to manufacture our scrubs exclusively using 100% cotton fabrics.
We do not use polyester or blended fabrics.
This choice is based on the practical realities of healthcare work rather than fashion trends or cost-driven manufacturing.
Why 100% Cotton
Breathability & comfort: Cotton is a naturally breathable fibre, helping to regulate body temperature during long shifts and physically demanding work.
Skin comfort: Cotton is gentler on the skin and better suited for prolonged wear, particularly for individuals sensitive to synthetic materials.
Laundering performance: Scrubs are frequently washed, often at higher temperatures. Cotton performs reliably under repeated laundering and maintains comfort and structure over time.
Reduced static: Cotton produces minimal static compared to synthetic fabrics, making it more practical for everyday clinical use.
Consistency: Using a single fabric standard ensures predictable sizing behaviour, wear characteristics, and repeat ordering consistency for institutional buyers.
While blended fabrics can offer different properties or lower costs, we believe 100% cotton provides the best overall balance of comfort, breathability, and practicality for healthcare professionals.
