Recent regulatory scrutiny and public criticism of Trustpilot has raised questions about review moderation, paid services and how businesses are represented on third-party review platforms.
Recent regulatory scrutiny
In March 2026, Reuters reported that Italy’s competition regulator imposed a €4 million fine on Trustpilot following findings concerning aspects of the presentation and authenticity of reviews and information provided to consumers.
Trustpilot strongly disputes those findings and has stated that it is appealing the decision.
Trustpilot rejected those allegations.
We make no claim that those allegations have been proven.
However, the subject is relevant to Chameleon Scrubs because we have ourselves received repeated approaches from Trustpilot regarding paid services and subscriptions.
Our own experience
We are not suggesting that a commercial company contacting a business about paid services is, in itself, improper.
Trustpilot is entitled to sell subscriptions and commercial services.

Chameleon Scrubs has previously contacted Trustpilot regarding reviews appearing on our profile which we did not recognise.
We did not simply accept questionable reviews because they may have been favourable.
We do not want fabricated positive reviews any more than we want fabricated negative reviews.
We want genuine reviews from genuine customers.
What we are asking Trustpilot to provide
Trustpilot has now placed a public warning against Chameleon Scrubs.
We categorically deny buying, paying for, commissioning or knowingly authorising fake reviews.
We have therefore asked Trustpilot to provide sufficient evidence showing that Chameleon Scrubs or Astflick Group Ltd actually created, purchased, commissioned or authorised the review activity it considers suspicious.
